**A Few of My Favorite Things**

Ok, so if you asked me about 10 years ago what my 5 top favorite things were, this is what I would have said:

1. Photography
2. Animals
3. Hanging out til midnight with friends
4. Impromptu trips that start at midnight with friends
5. Hiking

Fast forward 10 years. My answers would most definitely be very different. HOLD UP!!! Lets only fast forward 9 years and 364 days!! THIS is what I would have said are my favorite things!

1. Coffee in a quiet front porch swing early in the morning.
2. A restful nights sleep to start and stop at MY choosing.
3. An uninterrupted conversation with a close friend.
4. A bowl of ice cream that is calorie/guilt free around 9PM.
5. A long afternoon nap in the sun without getting any sunburn.

Try to guess how often 10 years ago I was able to do those favorite things? Pretty much all the time! Whenever I wanted. I really had no one to answer to. Except to be at work on time, I had no other responsibilities. 9 years 364 days later, try to guess how often I enjoy these favorite things? On a rare occasion -DING DING DING!!! SO I am changing my favorite things to the following:

1. Cleaning up puke in the middle of the night, including changing bed sheets!
2. Eliminating unwanted liquids off of improper surfaces (such as: sunscreen on carpet, puddles of hand soap on tile, permanent stamp ink on my couch)
3. Making everyone's favorite meal only to realize it was only the favorite 10 minutes ago.
4. Forgetting to buy creamer for my coffee! (this is detrimental-maybe i should move it to #1!)
5. Getting up in the middle of the night and wandering because I can't sleep.

Ok, so I am thinking if I make the latter 5 things my new FAVES then maybe I will only have to "enjoy" them on a RARE OCCASION! Good plan -huh? oh, wait... guess its not.  Bah! I tried.
