O Little Town of Bethlehem

did you know that our town of Bethlehem was featured in USA Weekend? Last year, November it was,i think. They talked about our traditional Star Lighting ceremony. We have a sweet little town here. I love our community!

The churches of Bethlehem together, put on a drive thru Nativity each year. It is FREE. You pull up and they give you a CD to listen to in the car as you drive through. It narrates Scripture and talks of the scenes that you witness as you are creeping by. Last year was our first year attending. There were lots of people dressed in period clothing just walking around. My children were begging if we could get out and walk around. That year I said, No not this time, but next time we can. They have NOT forgotten! So Friday night, my friend Kelly and I took our kids (ages 7, 7, 5, 4, 2, 2, 1) and drove through. Then we had to get out and walk..It was FREEZING by the way! But i had to keep my promise! So in the church we went to get our Biblical dress on! The kids were SO cute dressed up! I thought Corbett would surely fight the costume, but he LOVED it! He did not stop smiling!
After we were about icicles and the littlest ones were crying because they couldn't feel their hands any more, we headed into the church for some cookies and hot cocoa! Besides 1 small water spill, there were no hiccups in this night! What a blast! This will definitely be something to look forward to each year!
